Youth Leadership Board

The Mirkat Youth Leadership Board is calling forward young leaders ages 13–22, who want to make an impact, grow their confidence, and shape real programs that serve our community.

Your Leadership journey starts here

Some young people grow up being told they’re “too much,” “too quiet,” or “not ready.” We see something different. We see potential. We see leadership. We see a generation ready to change their communities in real time.

The Mirkat Youth Leadership Board was created for young people who want to grow, give back, and be part of something bigger. If you’ve ever felt unseen or unsure of where you fit, this is your space to discover who you are and what you’re capable of.

Our Process

Every applicant begins with a 5-week orientation, where you’ll learn about Mirkat Impact, explore leadership styles, build teamwork skills, and work on your capstone: a short presentation or video about who you are, your goals, and how Mirkat can help you get there. Board members complete a year-long leadership and service experience where confidence is built, leadership & teamwork skills are developed, and they shape programs that impact their peers. After orientation, the commitment includes monthly board meetings, project work, volunteering at events, committee meetings, etc.
