Our Story

Amir Malik Mosley was born August 12, 2001 on the west side of Chicago. From a young age, Amir’s favorite pastimes were basketball and socializing. He began to gain interest in the body and it’s functions which led him to the medical field. Amir attended Malcolm X college with the intentions of becoming an X Ray technician. One of his dreams was to become an entrepreneur with his own clothing line. Additionally, Amir was a giver and lover of all, especially his family and friends. On April 15, 2023, Amir was killed in the streets of Chicago leaving behind a huge community that loved and was blessed by his presence. In honor of the one year anniversary of his passing, Mirkat Impact Foundation was born to continue Amir’s legacy of nurturing the potential and creating a loving community. What was first seen as a tragedy, has now been turned into an opportunity to Awaken Minds & Inspire Resilience as Amir always did and always will.

Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, we aim to foster a compassionate and inclusive environment where young individuals feel empowered to navigate life's challenges with resilience and optimism. With a focus on prevention and early intervention, and destigmatization, we strive to raise awareness and advocate for mental well-being, ensuring that no young person faces their struggles alone.
